Hi eli. The course doesn't start till tomorrow. Fingers crossed all runs well!
How did you find the course back in 2002? Did you gain a place at med school and if so, where?Relatively newly qualified A&E Staff Nurse, hopefully 2012 entry to med, with any luck.
CoWA pre-fresher. Here's to an eventful 12 months: new friends, new challenges and lots of stress! :-D

Hey guys, just wanted to wish you all good luck for the coming 10 months or so! I'll be following you there this time next year!
Any tips/advice you pick up during the year, I'm sure we (my year) would love to hear them!

do i stand a chance
am 20 years old this is an overview of my qualifications.
G.C.S.E -- 2 A, 5B and 2D
A level CDD in chemistry , maths and Biology
Access to medicine; overall distinctions, with an a merit in biology and a project and cowa.
applying for manchester 6yr, bristol 6yr leeds 5yr and liverpool 5yr.
i know i have poor academic grades for my a levels, in my defence the school i attended had a really poor pass rate, but i should have worked hard
.
1. should i add my a levels to my current application or just leave them?
2. should i even bother applying?
3. should i add the fact that am doing biomed first year?

i accidently deleted my first response, so apologies if this seems short
in my opinion, and in a nutshell, don't bother applying until you've finished your degree. work your ass off and get a first. at that point there are some unis who won't care to look any further back. your results so far are a bit crud, by medicine standards, so you need to do what you can from now to turn that around. i doubt you'll get far from applying this year, but i'm not an admissions tutor, i'm just giving my opinion.
hope that sounds fair.
oh and make sure you spend your spare time saving the world and getting plenty of frontline experience. who knows, maybe in 3 years you'll have changed your mind entirely, but if you haven't, you'll be a much stronger candidate

Anyone care to say how the course is going? Meeting expectations? Any huge detours?
