Any one for Sussex Downs 2011??
Hi all,
Just wondered if there was anyone out there yet interested in applying this year for the Access course at Sussex Downs.....
Any past/ current students ....
Any words of advice for a paramedic wishing to loose the 'para' bit??
Cheers :-)

Hi all,
I'll most likely be applying to this course as well, but it's def not top of my list.
I've currently applied to St Georges 6 yr with foundation.

Also i hope that as we are the first group we will stick in their minds better.
Not sure exactly of the session, think it is mainly a presentation by them.. lets hope we can apply at the end of the session.

Wow,,,
Yes, Luton is a long way to travel. I had about a 2hr 15min journey!! Though if I got on the course I would be renting a room somewhere closeby.
How did you find the information session. It really brought home to me how small a chance you have of getting in, but I'm going to stick with it. I really want to get onto this course. I'm hoping they'll like all my years of medical work experience. Just worried about the academic side
So scary though!!
How are you feeling about it?

Well.... I am just so happy that we can now apply... That small chance is so scary, but i was a bit gobsmacked at some of the questions asked, do people not do their research... i know i do.
You applying to any other Access courses? I have not even thought about it to be honest as i live local to Lewes. As to renting a room in the local area, Lewes is our county town so it is quite expensive. Have a look at other towns local connected by the rail network, might be cheeper. For example, Newhaven, Seaford, Eastbourne, Brighton....
What i am most worried about is experience; i have none, yet in the process of gaining some, and hopefully i will be a carer by the end of today (interview this afternoon)

I'm happy that we can apply now to!! Though I have so much that I need to do!!
I have to retake my Maths GCSE in June!! I need to do so much revision as I need to get a B!!
I was also surprised!! It really didn't seem like some had done much research. It was as though they just saw the information session on the website and just turned up!!
No this will be the only one I'm applying for. The one in Norwich will be too far I think. Yes, I hear that Lewes is quite expensive but I have seen some rooms going for about £350pm which is really good (in my eyes) hehe
I don't want too much of a daily drive to the college.
I hope your interview went well!! And also, if you can, try and get a chance to do some volunteering in a hospital as that will look really good as you know the hospital environment.
Its such a long way away to find out if we got in. But I'm happy in a way becuase then I have time to revise for my Maths GCSE and sort things out. Imagine being on the April information session. You only have a couple of weeks before your application is due in!!
