    Hi,
with Access to Medicines you will only need GCSE Science Back ground and if you dont have GCSE you can still be acepted in Medicine if you have relivent experience of Healthcare. During the 2009/10 there were 30 Student out of 200ppl were Graduated, and arond 45 Ppl had No educational background and they Got accepted in to 5/6 Year Medcines only due to There experience in Healthcare Envirionment.

UKCAT IS MUST FOR MEDICINES FOR ALMOST ALL UNI FOR MEDICINES. Ranging from 590-700 scors

Hmmm, I applied to this one last year, filled out an application form, and was handed a place without an interview or anything....doesn't mean anything but I opted for Norwich who actually interviewed etc
Access to Medicine City College Norwich 2009

    UKCAT - 697 average (whoop)

    Start at Southampton soon (BM5)

If you are dertermined to get in you will, its a qualification at the end of the day not the institution that is the measure of your academic achievement.

I attended Lambeth last year and was rejected from all med schools, I wasn't prepared to give up so made a new application this year and now hold 2 Unconditional offers 1 rejection and waiting for 2 replys.

work experience is important, as is voluntary work and being a 'well rounded' person (I hate that term)

in all honesty I wanted sussex downs but failed their interview, if I had given up then I dont know where I would be, but I persisted and make the best of a bad situation.

Good luck to you all in your med school applications

    hi,

unfortunately they do tell you that there is a high success rate into medical school....this is wrong. I started in sept 09, and have nearly finished it. Throughout the year the number of 'successful' applicants from last year goes down and you are left feeling deflated. So far this year, Lambeth has had their most successful year with 5 out of about 50 getting into medical school. 4 have degrees in other areas, and the other has aab at a level. nobody has got into dentistry despite having qualified dental nurses-1 reason from bristol university was not enough support from your college-they didnt sed the references!!! I know this seems rather pessimistic, but i payed nearly £900, moved 300 miles to self fund my way through the course and have been severely disappointed! Hoping to try again next year!

    Hi Catkin,

Did Norwich help with your Southampton application? I'm currently applying for the Norwich Access Course starting in Sept 2011 and hoping they don't cancel this year.

    Thanks!!!

How can you put your faith into a college that withdrew the course a month before commencing this year? This is what happened to me! Good luck but make sure you have a back up plan!

I recently applied for this course at Lambeth in January and they have said that they will get in contact with me for me to sit some sort of assessment.
