Whens the closing date on applications for that?
@Nua and @Fellybabe - I applied to Lambeth College, did the assessment and have been offered an interview for a different course. I was told the pass mark for the interview was 19/20 for each section. Obviously I didn't make the grade
BUT I did apply to The Manchester College, did the assessment and have an interview for teh course 24th May. I had an acknowledgement from Sussex Downs that they received my application; closing date is today, so now it's a matter of waiting to see if I made the short-list there or not.
Good luck with your applications

Hi. I've been asked to go to the assessment for Lambeth's Access to Med next week... Can anyone tell me what sort of essay questions where asked when they went? And the comprehension - how hard is it? I'm fine with the maths side of these kinds of things, but my essay writing skills aren't the best... :/ Help?

The essay is not hard, it doesn't have to be amazing, they just want to see how you write and whether you know the basics of grammar, spelling, structure etc. Just make sure you're competent in these areas to GCSE level. Your essay title will be different to the one I did, as they change them - but the context will be science/health. They won't expect you to demonstrate any in-depth knowledge, it will be a generalised essay question.
The comprehension is not hard either, you just have to ensure that you read the article carefully and find the relevant bits you need to answer the questions. Some answers to questions can be found in the text, but others will require you to think about it and use your own knowledge/understanding. They're just testing basic logic and analytical skills though, it's nothing difficult.
I didn't do any preparation for the english section, and I still did well enough to gain an interview so I think you'll be fine.
Good luck next week, I have my interview then too!

Good luck to those of you with interviews and assessments. I've been offered a place, which I'm over the moon about, and I look forward to meeting some of you this September.
