    I feel your frustration. In any other subject an access course tends to supercede any previous study i.e GCSES as the content will cover it and admissions are usually OK with that. With medicine its not the case, as the medical schools still want there GCSE English, Maths and even Science in some places at grade B at least. I am applying for an access course next year in London but untill then I am resitting my GCSE Maths. Its a faff, but it has to be done unfortunately.

    No I dont have an interview :-( I just sent in my application and that when they said about my maths. I have sent back an email asking if my bachelor degree counts for anything. Am nae gie'in up!

    Sorry to bang on, but that is insane. Seriously! As a nurse you will be performing drug calculations and drip rates etc (which proves you can do maths pretty much) and as a nurse you need to have excellent communication skills (english) and have some knowledge of biology and possibly pathology oo. How can this degree not count?

    Got an email today from COWA today to say that they are proceeding with my application despite my low standard grade maths, the email implies they are proceeding due to my nursing degree and experience. So we shall see if anything comes of it.
