GCSE's :(
Right well I really want to do medicine but my gcse's are a major let down as I want to go to a university in london.
Gcses:
A*'s - ICT Dual Award(CiDA), Religious Studies
A's - BTEC New Media (Double Distinction), Mathematics
B's - Core Science, Add Science, English and English Literature.
So overall: A*A*A*AAABBBB
AS Levels:
Biology
Chemistry
Maths
Economics
General Studies
Using our class assessment results my teachers have predicted me AAAA(a).
Do you guys think I should even apply to medicine next year. As I seriously think I don't stand a chance!
Do universities accept CiDA and BTEC?

Cida is GCSE not BTEC so it's accepted. Your gcses will be ok if you choose the right unis. Eg. Getting a ukcat in the 700s will most likely get you an offer at kings. A good bmat will make up for your gcses too but it's risky since you don't find out your bmat until after you have sent off your ucas. Imo, you shouldn't limit yourself to London unis unless if you are in love with the course structure since they aren't necessarily the best unis and accomadation costs here are among the highest in the UK

I live in London and I want to stay local. I don't want to live away from home!
Btw I'm thinking of applying to one uni outside london but I don't know which 1 to choose. I heard kings want 7A*'s and don't care about UKCAT. I know barts love high UKCAT!
Also, I missed SGUL gcse requirements by 6 points

I live in London as well but plan on applying to only 1 or 2 london unis since I can come home on holidays anyway and moving away should bring loads of new experiences. But to each his own.
As far as I know Kings weigh UKCAT and GCSEs equally and a high UKCAT can make up for a low GCSE (though yours aren't low anyway). If you get a high ukcat (650-675+) then you can apply for sheffield or newcastle since they love UKCAT XD However don't lose heart. 3 A*s is still good and you meet all of the GCSE requirements of most unis (some require As in Science/English) and you shouldnt be under the impression that you need 7-12 A*s to stand a chance in medicine since people have gotten into the london unis with worse GCSEs than yourself, so by all means apply next year. Good luck!GKT 1st Year Medic!
