Applying aborad
I know this is in the wrong section but i'm a gap year student with a deferred entry to Edinburgh starting in september for biotechnology. I have been considering trying to switch to medicine since it is something that has really interested me and i regret not applying for it in the first place. I know there is the option to switch courses after the first year and i am looking into that as well. I was just looking into the possibility of studying abroad but i would prefer not to be studying in europe / america / carribean i was just interested in knowing other options availiable to me. Apart from these options are all the courses taught in the native language and how possible is it to study in that country after spending a year there immersing yourself in the language? Also what are the extra costs of studying abroad and will the government help me study abroad or does it have to be totally self funded?

What you have to understand is that most of the private foreign medical schools aren't recognised by the GMC and therefore you wouldn't be able to practice in the UK.
I know there is a big med school in Prague. It's taught in English, however you need to learn how to speak Czech or you fail the course. Look for it on here.“The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” - Voltaire.
Current favourites: Manchester, Leeds, UEA and King's...

If you study anywhere in the EU you pay the normal fees, and don't have to do the PLAB to come back and practice in the UK.
But yeah, there will be language problems!
