If you're in Scotland you could go to Perth College or Stow College. You won't need to get the 2:1 and you could get in now with what you have and the experience you've had nursing.
I know you can apply to Perth College now for the interviews taking place in January/February as I've done just that. I assume you can do the same with Stow.
So if an access course is the way you want to do it you should apply to them now.

will that be recognised if i top it up through open university???
huh some one else wrote back to me and said without a degree at 2.1 i wont be going to med school! i was under the impression there was other ways to get in, it would just take a little time
 not happy at that ignorance

hmm.... its a great pity that they would want you to be a lesser ealthcare professional in order to get into med skool though, isnt it?
errors in errantry of the admissions system...

I've only got standard grades, I'm doing access to biomedical to get into the pathway to medicine course. Here's a link to the Perth course - Pathway to Medicine
I've just realised that it states you must not have previous experience of degree study so if they don't accept you Stow college in Glasgow might if you are over 25yr old.
Push comes to shove it might be easier to get your honours degree in nursing and then apply to medicine.

If your current Batchelor (nursing) is "ordinary" then topping up to honours is recommended. 2/2 accepted on GEM at Nottingham, Peninsular and St Georges. 2/1 will give you more options, especially if you have things like a level biology or chemistry. Leicester are open to graduate nurses with 2/1 and 4 years post registration, as are a number of others.
