St georges

Nottingham

But you need GAMSAT. Some other unis may consider you with a MSc or PhD if you've got a 2:2.

Check these out:

Medschoolsonline - Medical school with a 2.2

Also, the GAMSAT is tomorrow, so you can't apply this year.

u cant apply warwick with a 2.2 at all. need a 2.1 and ukcat.

theyre probs the fairest uni in that respect. no a levels or higher degree is looked at; even if u hav an MSc and a PhD with a 2.2, u wont get in

Why is it considered fairer *not* to take other achievements into account? Surely the 'fairest' uni would be one that recognized the effort and work put into achieving a PhD over making a few bad decisions as an undergraduate resulting in a 2:2

because then everyone is on a level playing field. same as a uni saying that doin 4 alevels will get u no more credit then doing 3. u need 3, thats wat they expect, thats all they want. all good and well if ure offering 4 but ure at no advantage. that way its 100% transparent and fair.

and talking of a 'few bad decisions'.. surely u made those as school boy and didnt get the a levels u needed? gep courses give u that second chance; getting a third chance (in any walk of life) is very rare, hence the very very few unis that will consider u with a 2.2

you may want to consider topping up your degree to a 2:1 with the Open University? Some unis will still not take it as it's not your first degree, but I think others would.
OU will take your 2 years study in years 1 & 2 for 240 credits, and you may find they count towards a named degree. Then you study 120 credits at 3rd year level and pass these at 70% or more to get your 2:1.

After contacting several universities I know fo fact that the following will consider an application from you if you have a 2:2 + PhD

Cambridge, Queen's uni Belfast, Oxford, Warwick, Imperial, King's, BSMS and I think either Dundee or Durham but i'm not sure about the last one.
------------------------
Applying for 2009
Cambridge GEP
Warwick GEP
BSMS
?????????

Bad UKCAT (600)
2:2 Biological Sciences BSc Hons
MSc Molecular biology, Distinction
PhD Biomedicine and molecular biology
89% average in University foundation year program 1998-1999

(I know my chances are very seldom but I thought I'll give it a shot)
