It usually is a 1 year certificate in higher education for mature students i.e. 21 and over who either have life skills and/or university degree.
It is a route into Medicine if one does not posses A Levels.
Access to Medicine courses should not be seen as an alternative to A Levels.

An access to medicine or an A2M is another route into med school.
The course is designed to be completed in a year and is very intense( so i am told).
It is available in about 5 colleges in the country and for people with non standard qualifications.
Competition for these places is also great. I have been told this is not the easy option into medicine and some of the universities still dont accept them.
There is a sticky above. If not try typing cowa or access to medicine into your search engine
