    Smile Access to medicine

Hi guys, I am currently a second year nursing student but would ideally love to apply for medicine!

I am going to try the 5 year courses at both St. George's and East Anglia with the hope of getting on and also apply for the access to medicine courses at both St. George's and East Anglia. However, does anyone know if the access courses will take up two of my options on the UCAS form as I am aware you can only apply for four universities for a similar course.

Also I have been informed that I have to wait until my last year of my nursing course before I can apply as I will theoretically be using this to help me access the medicine degree. Do you know if this is the same case for the Access to medicine courses or can you apply for these anytime you like? Also when are the start dates for the access courses usually?

I know that's quite a few questions but I'm beginning to panicking with regard to time allowance for writing my personal statement etc lol.

    Thank you in advance

Only some access courses stipulate that you cannot have been to university to apply.

the course I am currently on is in Perth, Scotland

and it gives the 5 best students guarenteed access to the medical school at st andrews. There should be around 16 students competing next year.

U can always ask; there are four of the 8 on the course this year who have been to university before.

    good luck
