COWA students - UKCAT
Hi all prospective COWA 07 students,
Who has taken their UKCAT? Any one planning to take the UKCAT in the near future? I've recently booked mine for the 16th August, which is a week on Thursday.
I just wanted to know your experiences. I've brought the book and been going through it, and reading peoples comments from this site.
Is anyone going to be sitting the UKCAT after they have started at COWA?

Hi Afro Jo
I took mine on July 21st and came out with a 665 average. For me the pain was the decision analysis as i really struggled with those damn codes. The book helped me out a lot with the shapes but I didn't find the actual test as bad as I thought it was going to be. I found i had time to go back and review in all the sections except the maths where I guessed the last 5 and came out with a 700!Katfactor

That's great Katfactor! My weak point is quantitive reasoning - can you give me any advice on what aspects of maths to brush up on?

It's pretty much as it says in the book with averages (mean, median, mode and range), areas, percentages, pie charts, ratios etc. If there's anything you are not sure about PM me as I used to teach key skills maths so it wasn't too bad for me!

My parents want to book a holiday! And I have quite a lot on at work at the moment - so I am considering moving my UKCAT back to a weekend in September now.
Good luck for the 16th August Iwannabeadoctor! Nice move - bringing the test forward!
I guess I'll see you at COWA - when are you moving in?

Hi - i'm already here, been here since 1st of July. I'm living in a village called stoke ferry. About 15 miles from college. We've taken over a property that has boarding kennels so we've been busy doing that. Unfortunately not leaving much time for practicing the UKcat. Maybe not a wise move after all !! lol
How are you getting on with the UKcat ?

Hi Iwannabeadoctor
You're living in Stoke Ferry and you're doing the test in Bury St Emunds? That's miles away! Could you not get in at King's Lynn test centre?Katfactor

I was originally booked for KL but they didn't have any places for the summer season. So Bury was the nearest place.
