question for current med students
hey all, I have a question! I have ask before (cant find the thread) but now it is getting closer to application im starting to freak.
FINANCES!
I am really worried about money! My dad and I have just moved from Australia and I dont want to ask him for money. I have about 500 pounds to my name and am worried that im not going to be able to attend uni!
Can you get loans from a bank in which you dont have to pay anything at all (you will have a major debt of course but I can deal with that once I have a job)? I am really stressed about this!
anyone that can help, please do!

wow - sorry no one has replied danni. HBOS (halifax Bank of Scotland) give you a £2000 overdraft at 0% so that should tide you over for a bit. Apply for grants when you get to your uni or for different grants for particular organisations - do some research for thesed.
Get a part time Job. Apply to student support direct (means tested loans and a grant) - I got nearly £7000 this year. But this depends on your 'household income'.
So that plus my job on a saturday is damn good, for a student. Also check your tax. Someone told me to do this and I put it off then I went in last month and I've just had a cheque for £1000.
Any q's just ask.... GOOD LUCK
