Hi I'm new here. I have just finished my business degree here and I will be graduating this summer with a 2.2. Can anyone explain to me how access to medicine works? If you do the 1 year full time course are you guaranteed a place at a medical school for the 5 year program or would you have to do the 6 year program? would you have to go through the process of sitting the UKCAT, BMAT exams? Thank - you

Access is at an equivalent level to A level so you're eligible to apply for five year courses from it. You'll still have to sit the UKCAT/BMAT test.
Some courses offer linked places (Sussex Downs at BSMS and COWA at UEA) but only some students get the linked places and you still have to go through interview/UKCAT/BMAT as well and not everyone is guaranteed a linked place.
One piece of advice...do your research into who will take you with a 2:2. However I did my research and if you look at my sig, should give you an idea who will take you. I got a third in accountancy !!
