yes lots of peeps older than that! you have to apply to uni at the very start of the first term - which is quite amusing!! ucas wont accept applications after around oct 15th but you do get some help from college?!

oh yeah, hours at start of year will be 9.15 to between 2.15 and 4.30 depending on day, this year was either mon-thurs or tues off (you can chose from three timetables at start of year) and hours in college reduce over year slightly but work at home increases!! It's generally family friendly though

Don't worry about age Charlie! I'm 36! There are 2 guys the same age as me in my group and 2 women in their 40s. Everyone is friendly and supportive (well, most of em) and you are not made to feel different just because you are getting on a bit! I got 2 interviews and 2 offers so Mancat was definitely the right thing for me to do.
I just need to worry about getting distinctions in everything now.... !!!
Oh and the funding.....!!!3rd Year Manchester Medic

Thanks madimi
Feeling much more positive about it all now! Well done on your offers! Is it difficult to get distinctions in the modules? If you don't get a distinction for a piece of work the first time are you given the chance to improve your grade?

depends how hard you work, i sppse. some modules are neon impossible to get distinctions but most are ok. sometimes you are given the chance to improve, sometimes not.
If you dont get all the assessment criteria, i.e. less than 40% you can resit but only to pass all criteria. Some tutors are more flexible than others
Most unis ask for an average of distinction in all subjects so if you get very low marks on one or two modules and distinctions in others, it generally works out ok.
