For what it's worth, Southampton is a pretty nice city to live in. Obviously much smaller than London, but I can definitely think of worse places to spend five years of your life.

Depends how you define expensive.
I have a large three double bedroomed (one room is 19'2"
) house, close by to loads of shops including a 24 hour garage, a garden and a driveway and I pay around £750 pcm.
I don't call that expensive. I would probably pay the same anywhere else (except up north). So it ain't too bad.The stars exist that we might knowhow high our dreams can soar
