    Irish Medical School Places

A new government initiative in Ireland has doubled the amount of places available to European students in Irish medical schools. This relates to both foundation and graduate entry medical degrees. It is still not too late to apply for entry in 2006 and would probably be easier to get in than in Uk.

I didn't like the idea that they have raised the points for admission. I had been told that they went from asking for 4A's at As and 3 A's at A'level to 4 A's at both As level AND A'level. I had been hoping to drop a subject and now I have to consider whether I can manage 4 subjects at Alevel and get the grade. If I drop a subject I am out of the running. And the fees are higher for anyone who doesn't live there.
