When is it classed too late to apply?
Just wondering really.
I thought about the A2M route last year, but the lure of earning money for one more year appealed (paid off student loan - yay - roll on number 2!) and also i thought I'd give the application another bash with my 2:2 and the trusty GAMSAT.
Going to sit GAMSAT in 5 days and my confidence is showing as I am looking for alternatives already!
Will KL accept me (having a science degree already - even though it's not good enough) as Sussex Downs seem to imply in their literature that as I have a science degree already, that it should get me onto medicine already (which it won't) and therefore they won't accept me onto the course.
I also don't want to mess people about and apply to an A2M if I do (in a million years) get accepted for where I have applied this year....
..... but then I don't want to leave it too late and miss out on ANOTHER year - I aint getting any younger!
Any ideas? Pleasey?

Its not too late to apply for KL yet. you can apply right up to april/june i think
they do accept people with 2:2 degrees in science as there are a few on it this year with me. HOWEVER im sure your aware that the unis are from next year not taking 2:2 degrees in anything. However the best thing to do is get hold of Derek Holmes the course leader at the college (we go back on tuesday so he will b around after that) and as his advise. He is very good to have a chat to and will advise you better than anyone. There is always the possibility of a linked place with UEA through KL and a number of my mates with 2:2 degrees this year have got linked places.2001/04 -- UCLAN Adult Nursing
2005/06 -- COWA Access to Medicine
2006/11 -- Medicine @ Manchester

Cheers for the speedy reply.
As you probably can see, I've applied to UEA this year...
Just looking for back ups already really. I was more concerned that if I left it to the last minute then they would have filled up all their places before I even got a look in. I'll ring this Derek chap after I've sat the dreaded exam... (I'm pretty this is all another revision aviodance tactic!)
Surely not ALL uni's are closing the 2:2 and A2M route. UEA'll be one thats still open.... even one other doubles the chances

Hey, man
Truth be told, the Access to Medicine landscape does not look too friendly, to you... as med schools become more and more shitty about 2.ii's, so do Access course providers.
Call every medical school you're interested in attending, and see which of them will consider accepting you. If you can't find any or many, you may need another plan.
Give GAMSAT a kicking! You can do it.
