Access to Mancat
Hey guys i'm new here so i dont even know if im doing this right
Basically i'm going to send off my application form for the access medicine course some time next month. I havent really been to manchester before so everything will be new, i was just wondering if someone might be able to help me about my query regarding the access course test, i just wanted to know is it hard and what is it based on? I know its english, maths and science up to GCSE level but is it like one big paper with everything in or a seperate paper for maths and science, and is the science split in to biology chemistry and physics or is it all 3 in one? also what is the passmark or isn't there one? and what are the chances of getting in to the interview stage?
So basically could you advise me what the most benefical chapters for each of the subjects that i could revise ie Maths - Algebra, biology - Organs.
Also what is the night life like there, if any? I got relatvies who live on wilmslow road anyone know how far that is?
Sorry for the essay i hope someone can reply to me thanks

hi there,
if you look on the "access to medicine" board you'll probably find lots of info
re: mancat...its about 5/10 mins from wilmslow rd...
the access test: i think threres 3 sep papers; english is just testing you essay writing-type skills - maths is gcse level (but remember to practice basic calcs (ratios/percentages etc) as calculators are not allowed!)...science is a doddle, really basic stuff. - i think threre is a pass mark, not sure what though!
the course itself is pretty intense tho - so be prepared to work really hard!
good luck!
