its a year course for 'mature students'/over 19's who have decided they want to study medicine but dont have the qualifications. the access course normally automatically gets u an interview with the uni its connected to. kings lynn and south downs are meant to be the best two i believe. if u look further down the page there are some links u could look at.

it depends which access course you do as to which med schools take it. The kings Lynn access course (which im on at the moment) is the most widely recognised, its accepted by over 20 medical schools
    2001/04 -- UCLAN Adult Nursing
2005/06 -- COWA Access to Medicine
    2006/11 -- Medicine @ Manchester

the unis that accept the course are: Hull York (provided you dont have a 2.2 degree), Leeds, Sheffield (have to have higher than a 2.2 if you already have a degree), UEA (obviously!), Brighton, Liverpool, Leicester, Aberdeen, Newcastle/Durham, Manchester, Keele, Barts, Cambridge (you have to have a high academic background), st georges...... I think there are more......... HOPE THIS HELPED
