i believe the answer if no. they'r usually over 21's, but if u hav a lot of work experience u can do some of them when ur 19+, havnt heard of any younger ones, but if u look on their websites itl say the entry requirements. maybe u could hav a gap yr to gain some medical experience and then apply?

I'm at King's Lynn now. Two guys in my year were 19 when the course started, but they're the youngest that the course has ever taken... we're all crossing our fingers for them, but some medical schools have been snotty about it. I don't see why, personally - why should they be more interested in me at 25, for no other reason than I'm 25 and had a job for a few years... still, we all know that the med school application circus is bloody stupid.

I must say that the King's Lynn course is far and away the most widely-accepted Access to Medicine course in the country. I believe that the Sussex Downs and ManCAT courses are accepted by three or four medical schools, while King's Lynn's is accepted by around 20... No competition, kids. If you want a broad choice of medical schools, there's only one place to be.

Sorry Mike... I only just read your questions.

You apply by calling the College of West Anglia (I don't have the number to hand, I'm afraid) and asking for a brochure and application form.

George's, UCL and Kings accept our course, definitely. Barts and Imperial are beginning to (as in, they've accepted two or three people, each) but they can't be relied upon.

    Hey guys!
Happy new yr btw, hope everyone had a great new years eve
Are access courses alternatives to A levels, or can people who haven't quite made the grades at A level do the course as a different route into Medicine?
Also after doing the access course do u have to apply through the normal ucas process and go through interviews just like everyone else or are you guaranteed a place at the med school that is in partnership with the college you do the course at?

    Talking

depending on what college you attend will determine the outcome of your age requirement for the application, to be honest if you can do a-levels then do them access is really for mature students so if your in colllege stick to them a levels mate

No guaranteed place, safa. You need to stand in line and run the risk of dying on your arse, like the rest of us... if you recently undertook science A levels but didn't make medicine grades, you need to do something else before looking to Access to Medicine.
