Re-hello! I have just arrived at home!!!

So, I will tell you if I have a place when the postman comes lol
And peaceful-blossom, my trip to England was great, and a lot of fun too. I was invited to stay over at some friends'house in Luton. They were my host family when I first came to England (at 14years old) as an exchange student. We had stayed in touch, but I had not seen them for 15 years so that was terrific!!!
We had so much fun because I did not realize that there were so many differences between American English and British English. Now, I have the impression that I speak another language lol. In 2 days, I have had everything (lorry for truck, toilets for restroom, mobile for cell phone, lift for elevator, biscuit for cookie, trousers for pants, trolley for kart, cash point for ATM, film for movie, cinema for movie theater, flat for apartment, and hoo... sth for trunk lol, petrol for gas, and the oil for petrol), and that was not made on purpose, that just came out in the discussion.
lol
The funniest - and you guys are going to laugh at me- is the chips, crisps, french fries story. Ok, so Steve, my host father came to me at the restaurant and asked me if I wanted some chips with my salad, and I asked "Er, chips chips or chips french fries?" He answered french fries. Ok. Same day, they propose me some crisps, so I am like thinking ok, so crips must be chips lol, which was right. Then and here comes the Fun (
), we go shopping, and I see oil (Br English, lol again) and it was written "crisps" and there was the drawing of french fries, so I started to laugh saying "So what is it now?" and my friend Elaine just laughed and told me the trademark was Crisps and the oil could be used for french fries, lol.
Then, we go back home, and she proposes me crisps (US chips) with written "french fries" on it (cos of the shape of the crisps (chips) in fact lol). So, I just started to laugh, and my friends too, and I asked "Where is the hidden camera?". In fact, that was just coincidences but we were all cracked up. lol Yeah, yeah, I see u smiling... well, u can lolLast edited by ALOHA; 06-06-2005 at 03:43 PM.
