    Hiya

Im starting the Kings Lynn course in September- and very excited! I finding that being at work everyday is a chore though! Only 7 months to go!

Simran I do hope you receive your offer

Iif not you will have a year of Christie  and myself  - I don't think that will be too bad

At least the facility is there as an option to people like ourselves regardless of the circumstances!

I am sure it will all be fine :P

    thank you Dimples.

Its not that the course doestnt look good to me, its just that I havent asked any med schools yet if they will accept me with a distinction in an access to med scourse with a lowly 2.2 in a non science subject.

I think I better get on with it.

    Hiya Simran

Im in a similar situation to you with a 2.2 in a non-science subject.

Ive asked the majority of the med schools and they have all stressed ill need a good amount of relevant work experience and depending on where Im applying Ill need to get a certain number of distinctions in the modules of the Access course- No pressure then.

I guess it would be the same for you! Although having good A levels would probably make success alot easier.

Well thats good news then Christie. Remember a distiction is around 80%, and over 90% in coursework (which makes up 50% of the module marks) is acheiveable.

What marks did you get in you A levels? I only got CCD, and a B in an AS level

I got DDE at A level and a C at A Level Biology which I took part time last year. Ive also done my degree. Not the best grades in the world!

According to a few of the med schools they would overlook previous grades and concentrate on the Access Course and relevant recent work experience.

Do they really over look grades?

Which ones? My A level grades are ok I guess. I am re-taking my GCSE maths (I need a B in that - as one of the Doctors at Kings told me).

It is all a pain sometimes but hopefully in the end it will be worth it!

Have you decided on your 4 choices for University - Christie?Simran?
It won't kill you to try and if it does well at least you died trying

I'll be applying to PMS and St Georges GEP, as this yr will be my second yr i will have been interviewed for PMS, and gone through the same interview structure as St Georges.

The other two choices, I'll have to research where people with similar grades as me have received offers.
