    I'm really sorry those of you who weren't successful, but being on the waiting list is still pretty good! Did you know how far up you were?

    And congrats to those with offers! Well done (:

    I reckon I have been rejected now, I'm 90% sure. It seems there's a pattern to the way the offers were given out, and I reckon next week will be rejections. Unless...you don't think they did it in order of surname do you???? LOL I'm "T" so maybe there's hope yet!!!!

    Congrats to everyone with a recent offer - and better luck next time for those with definite rejections. As for ppl without a reply so far - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys

    Even though it's difficult to resist the temptation, checking your applicant portal every 10 minutes will not help. The status on everyone's portal gets updated once every day, so checking it 2-3 times daily will be more than sufficient

    BTW. being on a waiting list does not necessarily equal a rejection - depending on your position in the 'queue', you might get an offer fairly quickly once some of the UC candidates drop out (i.e. firmly accept a different school). They wouldn't put you on the list if they already knew you have no chances of making it through. However, I discourage those on the list from using the strategy one of the 2009 applicants used, which involved trying to encourage those with multiple offers to go someplace ELSE than Aberdeen (and leave 'their' place to that applicant). I get it, you all want to start medicine asap, but I trust you have more common sense than this

    My Portal never got updated when I had an interview or anything, I take it this is normal?

    Thing is, there is another course I want to apply for if I'm unsuccessful to do for a year before re-applying...but I need to hand in the application form soon. If I still don't hear by mid next week do you think it's rude to phone admissions and explain to outright ask if I've been rejected?

    @SeeTee

    I don't know exactly how the portal displays information, but I'm pretty sure interview related news don't pop up there. Just major stuff, like getting an offer/a rejection.

    I think if you have no other choice, you should let them know and hope for the best. If you're on the waiting list they won't be able to help you out, i.e. you're going to have to wait like everybody else. If it's a clean offer/rejection, though, they should understand your situation and give you the answer.

    Frankly, if I were on a waiting list and had to apply/pay for another course before I got the final answer from med school, I'd probably still apply/pay (to have it as an insurance choice) - and in case med school accepted me further down the line, I'd just drop out from my 'insurance course' (and pay them for the inconvenience if they ask for compensation - I know it's not ideal, but it sure beats re-applying for med in 2011). It all depends on your financial situation and on whether you like to take risks in life - this is just what I'd do.

    Good luck

    Just got my UCAS notification. Unsuccessful.

    What's more frustrating is i now have to wait and see if someone doesn't make their conditions. Can anyone tell me what the chances are of getting a place on the waiting list?
