There is no-one on this forum right now who could reliably point out the problems with the new curriculum, since it hasn't been implemented yet. I'd give it 3 or 4 months until the 09 freshers are able to make up their minds about new structure of 1st year teaching.
As for the city - it's got its pros and cons, just like any other place. What I personally don't like is the weather and lack of diversity in terms of night-life and/or entertainment. It's quite expensive to rent a flat here, too.Aberdeen Uni - MBChB year 4

There are exceptions from this rule, but generally u should expect to pay 300-350 for a 'typical' room in a student flat, and those in 'nice' flats don't go for less than 400-450.

I can't comment on the course.
As an Aberdonian of too many years (agewise), the downsides of Aberdeen are the cost of living, public transport (dire off-peak) , a messed up social class system where some manual workers are paid way more than highly qualified professionals and the clubbing and nightlife. It costs me a lot less living in London than Aberdeen and I'm less robbed of time. I remember looking for flats in the west end when I came back to the UK in '96 and some landlords were asking as much as 500 for a decent 1 bed flat (the exception rather than the rule). I only paid 400 for 3 bed 2 bath town house in Ispwich town centre in 1998.
I don't think there's such good social mobility in Aberdeen and in fact North of Britain as in, say, London. It won't affect you directly as Doctors but it might be evident in the patients you go on to see.
That said Aberdeen is a nice place and it's pretty safe to walk the streets at night. It's only a short journey to get out into the countryside.Signatures are for losers!
