Hey MrBlair

UKcat is only worth 5% of points, i.e. if u scored between 300-500, u get 1 point, for 500-700 u get 2, and for 700-900 => 3 pts. Or something along those lines. If u compare it with the score u're getting for the interview (ca. 50%) - u see why u shouldn't worry about this test at all. The important bit is that Ukcat is not affecting your application unless there's a point-tie with someone else at the lower point levels, which might end up in one person being accepted and the other leaving with nothing. However, for 170-ish places available on the course, it's easy to work out that there is a slim chance u'll end up in such a fight for the last remaining place on the course
As for A-levels, I guess my (Polish) high school mark would not qualify within the requirement range, so they asked me to do their summer school course. It's a piece of cake, u'll get a 20 (A+) if u pay attention at lectures & tutorials. Good luck with your application
Robafter an extreme NMM makeover u might find me using another profile (Kensei)..

If we get in we know who to go to for anatomy help !
. I'm doing some community work as well, social work type stuff. Some of the situations u come across can be slightly daunting but enjoyable and rewarding nonetheless. Hoping to also get a job in a lab for a bit of cash, then a little bit of travelling before (fingers firmly crossed) Med!

Hey,
I'm a graduate, applying to aberdeen too.
My UKCAT went pretty crappy!! So i'm hoping I get in somewhere, but i'm not holding my breath to be honest.
I'm still at uni this year, final year of nursing.
What is everyone else studying? well for those of you still at uni!!

Hey guys,
My application just went off for Aberdeen....very scary having finally got it all done...
Im a grad with a sports science degree and poor a-levels too, but am hoping my access course and volunteer work will pull me through...
I am super excited about potentially studying here, and getting back into uni lifestyle...
Big question i want answered though, is anyone been up here and done any surfing - any good waves about?
Alright guys, good luck to everyone

I think its only fair to inform you that aberdeen beach is probably the coldest in the world... surfing in that would probably lead to loss of limbs or other dangly bits, or at least SEVERE frostbite...!
but I hear the med school is pretty decent...
haa very decent!

Hey guys. I've also applied to Aberdeen. My friend has just started there and says its brilliant. I can only imagine the surfing to be deathly cold but one of my former lecturers did his PhD there and said that skiing and drinking are better options! The course and the University look great. I studied in Trinity College Dublin one of the few ancient uni's so Aberdeen is quite similar. I'm working this year as an Anatomy Demonstrator in Trinity and doing an MSc also. My degree is in Radiation Therapy. This is all quite exciting but its out of our control until the interviews (hopefully). Hope to see you all soon in Aberdeen.

Did my degree at Newcastle. I've never been to scotland either but know that its a really scenic country. Plus I think its time I checked it out and moved away from English life for a while. Lol - Don't know if its much different though. What's Bristol uni and city like? I've only been to Bristol once and don't remember much of what it looked like coz i didn't stay long.
