I might b interested if it's not too expensive...

then again, I vaguely recall someone saying that there was something about this society that effectively stopped them joining... I'll have 2 ask about.

Hmmm, the red cross is voluntary therefore doesn't cost you anything i think. I'm a red cross member and i get away scot-free with everything, wonder if it's the same? Hmmmm.

Doctors dont need first aid though, pfff.

well u'll get the trainning etc free, but most of the societies u have to pay to join dont u? it would prob only be a few pounds if so though. well i thought it might be handy to start with in the first yr while we are learning are clinical skills and doctor stuff.

I am a St. John member already in England and will probably join the first aid society but would like to find out a bit more about it first. First aid is always useful especially for medics. I have heard of medics not knowing to roll someone onto their side when they are passed out drunk. And then there was the time I fainted in a doctor's surgery and it was a passing nurse who had to suggest to lift my legs.

ooo good idea. I think I will fill in all the forms beforehand and hand them in during freshers to save time. What kind of freebies do you think they are?

Hi people,
This is my first post in this sub-forum, though I've actually had this account for months :P
Anyway, the other day I was going through the AUSA website and I found a medical society called Medical Humanities Society (Medical Humanities Association - Aberdeen). The idea sounds interesting, I'm currently considering joining them. Anyone finds this worth a look at Fresher's Fayre?
