yeah, it is more fun on the wii fit cos you can see other peoples' miis jogging and falling over on the screen, but it is more expensive then a gym membership.

If it is £12 a month for the new fantastico gym then thats a bargain but I dont expect that will be built by september. The current gym is very poor in comparison to other uni gyms so I've heard but the new one will be amazing I'm sure, just hope for you guys the prices arent ridiculous!

Btw, i was thinking of buying a wii fit (when i find a place they arent sold out!). Is it worth it? Do you get many games/activities with it or is it really basic and you have to spend more money to get more discs cause it gets boring quickly?

I find it really good and you do not need to spend any more money to get extras, although you can buy games that are compatible with the balance board. It is good if you want to start getting into fitness but if you are a hardcore fitness fanatic it may be a bit easy. The muscle and yoga exercises are good and it can detect how you are doing them and will tell you to lean back or straighten up if you are doing it wrong, which is pretty good. The downside is there are not that many aerobic exercises and it will make your mii fat if you are overweight, but it is good fun.

Ooh! When it comes to 'exotic' sports societies, I'm your man

Taekwon-do is going to get you extremely fit in relatively short time period - capoeira is also lots of fun, however it all depends on how far you're planning to push yourself to get in shape. There is also the acrobatics club - which is slightly more expensive (5 quid per session) but apparently it gives you amazing flexibility and an assortment of show-off moves

Other, recommended by my friends include breakdancing society, windsurfing society and kung-fu school

Many sport clubs hold their trainings in the evening, so next morning lectures might be painful.. but as my teacher often said: "pain is good" :P
