Rejections anyone?

Has anyone actually been rejected from Aberdeen yet? I emailed them back in January and they gave a wishy washy answer about how they make decisions to reject people throughout the admissions process- but what does that mean? I mean, it may mean that they decide to reject people but it doesnt actually say they notify them of that decision? I know they say that anyone who hasn't heard by 5th March won't get in but why do they make us wait that long, if they know now? I'm just a bit fustrated becos I'm thinking of pulling my application out and I kno how its lik tiny tiny chance I'll get an interview at Aberdeen at this stage and as I've been rejected from elsewhere I kinda think its inevitable but if I pull it out, there will always be that what if?? Does any1 kno of ppl rejected from Aberdeen 4 meds this yr? Also ppl hu got parents info evening invites, were they specifically 4 medicine? I still haven't got 1 which makes me think even mor im not getting in

Loobylou,

Don't withdraw because every university looks for something different. Aberdeen might be your destiny!

My parents were at the information evening in Edinburgh and it covered all courses. There'll be so many people, some are bound to have been missed by mistake so don't worry about not having heard. I'm sure there's people at my school who've applied for Aberdeen but didn't get a parents' information invite.

I'm in the same position for Dundee, but some of us must be in the last batches at each university. Just hold on for another two weeks (although I bet it seems like four years!) and you never know.

I really hope you get good news!

Yep I went just to be nosey and it was for all subjects!
The woman who was incharge or recruitment and admissions said that applicants for medicine and primary teaching should not be worried if they haven't yet heard about an interview... I'm not so easily convinced though! Lets hope what she's saying is true. But as ClareS says there are bound to be some people that by accident don't get an invite to the parents evening so lets try not worry.

Hey, I got a rejection just now...
I am very sad and angry at Aberdeen... they are simply biased, and they reserve medical places for Scottish applicants, this is not a question... It is a shame that such a nice Uni is sooooooo stupid, and illegitimate, though they'll never admit it...

Finally rejected, they took their time - must have decided ages ago to reject people and it annoys me that they took so long.
Don't think they are particularly biased, most people I know didn't get an interview, seemed to be all Welsh folks to me lol(no offense).

i just got rejected from aberdeen....wohoo....feels kinda nice(wierd)

i dont have to wait for them anymore!!!!
