Difficult to give you everything you'll need because each school has general as well as school-specific requirements for foreign medical students completing a clerkship (clinical attachment to you) in the U.S.

My best advice: go directly to the websites (Google is your friend) of the medical schools and departments where you want to do an elective, and look under "visiting students" or "clinical electives". Also be aware that you may end up 'shadowing' rather than doing hands-on stuff without malpractice insurance.

I hope we (NY state) make it easier for you than the U.K. did for me.
