Things you need for uni

Hi, I know that uni does not start until October, but I will be flying to my home country like in two weeks, where I hope to get myself all the neccessary stuff like a laptop etc (since technology regarding that area is more advanced there than where I am now). But I'm new to this, so some advice would be helpful .

How good quality should the laptop in your opinions be to suit your studies at college? Like how large a screen would you need and would you need a good graphic card since you might be looking at lots of medical photos during your studies? I've read somewhere that you'd get some lecture programms and do lots of work with computers at Imperial?

what other things would you need to bring for uni?

Also, what should I do with the issue regarding bank accounts and credit/debit cards??? Since I do a lot of internet shopping, I'll need a card which is accepted widely, such as Master Card and VISA. How can you get a debit card on such firms?
can anyone give me a list of things to bring? I'm quite new to this. I also especially need info on getting those debit cards for money stuff.
