Although I'd say that drinking is the only way to make dance music bearable I really think that you are strongly sterotyping yourself here.

As for "not being allowed" to do things, this is exactly why you shouldn't be taking your mother to uni with you. Culture / religion / stereotypes to the wind, you are your own person and can do what you like. You are "allowed" to go in clubs, you are "allowed" to go out drinking. If you actually want to is beside the point, but what you shouldn't stand for is your parents dictating what you do. You might very well take their advice on not drinking etc, but they shouldn't be expecting it of you.

Plenty of Asians go in clubs....the notion of them not doing is nonsense, probably told to you by your parents.

You DO have a choice.

Please, please don't take your mother to uni. You will NEVER live it down and it'll ruin it for you.

If necessary put it to them as a chance to be independent, show that you are fiscally responsible, that you can look after yourself and study with no parental guidence and overall, that you are now an adult.

It really sounds like you're trying to make a case for her when you know yourself it's a terrible idea. Stop making excuses and face up to them. Taking a parent to uni is not acceptable. End of....
