The hi light of my day today was purchasing a new pair of black combat trousers from Arco.

They're very nice but why do manufacturers insist on making all the trousers, whatever the waist size, have an inside leg of 33 inches?

Why 33 inches? All the other sizes are even numbers. So why make the leg be 33 inches?

I am only moaning because, of course, I have to attempt to take the legs up.

How on earth do I do that?

It used to be the case that I'd place said garment on a pile and they'd be returned a day or so later magically shorter. Somehow that service has ceased to operate...

Ben has suggested I use a fret saw to remove excess fabric and finish the edges by burning them ... like rope.

Hmm. :|

I might just give the pile another few days...
